Sweet Ecstasy of Your Kiss

I woke before dawn came this morning
and sat on the edge of our bed
I thought I'd watch the sun slowly rising
but I watched you instead
Your face was framed by the pillows
and your lips bore the faintest of smiles
Your breasts slowly rising and falling
like the waves on the tide

When you told me last night that you love me
I looked at my life up til then
Lonely and free, a ship on the sea
Searching for home on the wind
When you held me so close in the starlight
The sweet ecstasy of your kiss
The heartaches and pain
The prices I paid
Were all there to lead me to this
The sweet ecstasy of your kiss

We've both sailed the cold waters of heartbreak
Known the storms of a love gone astray
Felt the blush of a love newly fallen
and seen it soon fade
Yet my heart say somehow this is different
this love can escape from the past
In your eyes is a tropical ocean
and I'm home here at last
