After All
The room is getting colder
As you build your silent wall
And I know that I could never tear it down
'Cause I'm dealing with my own fears
I've stacked up just as tall
Searching for the words to bring us back to common ground
I'm sad but I'm not angry
Can you please believe that's true
I'm not interested in blaming me or you
I don't want to hear your reasons, only what you plan to do
There is no debt to pay
Only choices to be made
You must seek your own forgiveness
Come to terms with your own heart
What's wrong or right is strictly up to you
You know I'll always love you
Together or apart
Love brought our hearts together when it called
And love is what we made here after all
We're standing at a crossroads
Surveying the unknown
I'll support you in your choices
while I wrestle with my own
Pain is just the pricetag
of learning how to see
That we both have roads to travel
to become what we believe
The room is getting warmer
And you slip your hand in mine
We can leave the past, but keep the lessons learned
It's not for me to judge you or define the way you live
'Cause my love is not some paycheck you must earn
You must seek your own forgiveness
Come to terms with your own heart
What's wrong or right is strictly up to you
You know I'll always love you
Together or apart
Love brought our hearts together when it called
And love is what we made here after all
